I wrote a post on our adoption blog asking for help with donations for Meg's orphanage. Thank you to those that have responded so generously - every little bit makes a difference.
Today I came across some photos of her orphanage and its conditions and it made me want to reach out on my public blog to see if there is anyone that would like to help and donate something. This orphanage is in such poor shape and even though I was aware of its conditions, it is quite another thing to see photos of where she is living and the lack of necessities there. More over, seeing the photos of so many babies and children that must go untreated for such simple conditions as scabies (until they have secondary and harsh skin conditions as a result) makes my heart sink.
Here are the details on my previous post for anyone interested: CLICK HERE
What is most needed is scabies medication, monetary donations for me to buy the orphanage formula and food while we are there in May 2009 (if anyone shows interest I can set up a paypal system), stimulating (non-fabric) toys for the children (must be small for me to fit in my suitcases), art supplies such as crayons, markers, etc, medicines for fever, etc.
The necessities of life, quite honestly. If you want to help and make a real difference in the life of a child just like Meg - please consider it. My email is llightfoot@xplornet.com
I would love to donate items to this orphanage. Please email me where to send, so it get there in time for your trip. I long to adopt a baby girl in a couple years. We have 3 boys, and I would love to have a baby girl. This house needs more estragen. Praying for all the little children at the orphanage, and a safe trip for you and your husband to go and get your precious daughter. If you get the chance. Please tell me how you went about adopting from this orphanage. Thanks so much! Amy
