was such a good read. 
i am not a reader. i haven't read more than 2 books since Chloe was born.... after this book, all i want to do is read. haunting, sweet, made me think, made me cry, made me feel all excited in spots. i loved this book. i loved susie.
what book am i talking about?
The Lovely Bones of course.
i thought it would give me the creeps or make me really sad, but it didn't. the way this book is written was just magical to me.
if you haven't read it, ya really should.
with Ang, Elmer and their little babe Cole yesterday. We had a blast. No wonder nothing ever gets done around home... much more fun things to be done than that. Their nephew "Dano" came along too and entertained Keaton during the day.
We went to this very cool place they affectionately call the "Bombing Range" because it is this strip of beach/island that you can only get to by boat and used to be a bombing range back in the 40's for the airforce. Long time ago. Anyhow, very cool place, one side of the little island is Weller's Bay - calm lake water. 2 minute walk across to the other side of the island and you are looking at Lake Ontario and big waves. We spent all afternoon there & then went back to their home for pizza while the kids and Shaune fished off the dock. Even caught a few little fish with Keaton's new "Batman" fishing pole...or maybe it was Chlo's "Dora".
Thanks Ang for a great day out on the water. Makes me think we need a boat. Keaton is convinced we do ;)
came East to visit the Emerson clan. It was so nice spending time with them. Wish they lived on this side of Canada ;)
We spent last night at Aunt Ann's where she had all the "younger"(ha) cousins for a spagetti supper. With all of the "younger" cousins children there, i'm sure she was happy to see all the comotion and craziness come to an end at 9ish when we all left.
Today, we went out to Wendy and Stu's cottage on Oak Lake. Gosh I love it there. Simple and calm and perfect. Everyone that could be there was there and it was an awesome day of family and fun. The kids swam (Keaton decided the water was too cold!) and fished and went out in the paddle boat. Amazing day. Had a great time meeting Amy and Hunter. Wish we had more time. Have a safe flight home tomorrow and keep in touch. Love Ya!

Chloe got a box of lovin' in the mail today. For the first time ever, she was REALLY geniunely digging the clothes. Maybe it was the pink. Probably it was the cowboy boots. Whatever it was, she saw the clothes in the box and smiled big. Then she saw the Pink cowboy boots and SQUEALED. She repeated over and over "Boots, help - boots?" until i put them on her. She stomped around in her clothes (that aren't actually meant to go 'together') for as long as I'd let her.
I cannot believe I've turned into a mom that
1) likes HOT PINK
2) is jealous of her cowboy boots ;)

we took another trip up to Toronto this weekend, staying with Tammy and Paul and meeting up with John, Michelle and kids for a fun daytrip to Canada's Wonderland again. This time Keaton had his buddies with him (Madelyn + Macey) and then we had our buddies with us: John and Michelle. baby Lily and Chloe tagged along too.
We discovered a whole new area of the big Waterpark section and I must say I was having a delirious amount of fun, considering we had 5 kids in tow total. The waterpark is where you feel like a kid, and act like one too!
The morning started off badly with Keaton upchucking about 5 minutes before we were headed out the door for the theme park. He barfs so much that we thought maybe he was just doing it to get out of eating breakfast before he went. On the busy highway 401 in Toronto he got sick again and we were SOOOOOOOOOO lucky to have had a little barf bag prepared for such special 'occassions'. He insisted he was fine after that and gave us such a long face about not going to Canada's Wonderland with his "Fwends" that we decided to go anyhow. As soon as he got there he was totally fine.... the magic of a theme park i guess.
We decided to buy Season's passes and because it is so late in the summer - they will not expire til the end of next summer - bonus! We are hoping to get up one more time this summer - probably on a weekend in September.
Loved seeing Keaton so happy to run around to all the rides with his friends. He also was way into hugging all the characters. Chloe was a scalliwag and ran around after the older kids, bound to not miss out on anything. she insisted on going on the child-rated bumper cars and i laughed so hard. she drove into a wall and pretty much sat there the whole ride - sucking her thumb and looking REALLY confused.
