Live it!

Still Cold... many hours later

Out on the Bay of Quinte... it is cold - even with the sun shining bright. We spent the afternoon at Ang and Elmer's place for a skating party. The kids had a lot of fun and didn't want to leave even when momma's bottom was frozen solid ;) Thanks Ang and Elm for a fun afternoon.

Keaton was in heaven, playing hockey and skating around like a speed skater. He truly loves to skate! Here he is playing some stick with Matt & Ben...

A concert...

Went to see the Barenaked Ladies Friday night at the ACC. It was great. They sound amazing live. They are so fun and playful and they made us laugh numerous times with their commentary and their impromptu rap songs about Toronto, etc. They are from Toronto (Scarborough) and put on an awesome show for their hometown. Shaune came with me and we met up with Gwen and Pam for the concert.

I was well on my way to a future hangover when my cell phone rang...my mom calling - Keaton had been at home (2.5 hrs away) crying for 2 hours b/c of an earache that must of come on suddenly. ACK. I put down the drinkage and tried to help my mom figure out where his  health card was, as well as what medicines would help the pain. The rest of the concert was great but that kinda changed my mood. We are home now, he is fine and all is well.

Favorite performance of the night had to be "Brian Wilson". There is always one song during a concert that gives you the shivers b/c of how good it sounds, or just the feeling it gives you. At the Dixie Chicks Concert a few months ago it was "Top of the World" ... a song i'd never paid much attention to until they played it live... now it is one of my all-time fav's. Brian Wilson - they sang it GREAT. My favourite BNL song is probably the oldie "Life in a nutshell" and they didn't play it. "Enid" is another great oldie and they did that one. "Lover's in a dangerous time" was awesome too. Encore included "If i had a million dollars". They are such a fun, boyish band. By the end of the concert I had a crush on Ed Robertson and didn't realize you could laugh so much at a 'rock concert'. David Suzuki also hit the stage at the beginning with his global warming environmental campaign.

Today we are off to Ang & Elmers for a skating/snowmobile party. Should be fun. AND COLD ;)

Dabbling a bit...

with digital scrapbooking. A nice diversion when my scrapbook desk is so covered & messy... and I cannot stand the thought of cleaning it up.

I am having fun learning as I go and have done about 6-10 digital layouts now. I design them at 300dpi 12x12" and then print them out at home on my printer at 300dpi 8x8". I have a little American Craft binder album that they fit so nicely into :)

Best thing of all - no mess to clean up afterwards!

Happy Valentine's Day

We woke up to a sorta blizzard here. It is really cold... the snow is blowing and continues to fall - a winter wonderland for sure. It looks so pretty (to me who doesn't have to leave the house and drive in it!)

Keaton's school bus is cancelled so it should be 'one of those days' around here. I forgot today was Valentine's Day til' Shaune reminded me during supper last night so I rushed and got his Valentine's  cards ready to take to school today - and now it is cancelled. So, I guess he'll hand them out tomorrow.

Thanks to Erica for this fun template - made a forgetful mom able to whip up Valentine's greetings in a hurry!

skate day

for Keaton's schools primary grades. Ya, he was pretty excited. He zoomed around the ice and mostly left me in his dust. He is our speedy boy and I was left to skate by myself mostly. Ha.... oh well.

Thanks Diana for the photo. This is Keaton stopping long enough for Diana to snap a photo of him with Dalton. Then I'm sure it was off and running (err... skating)  again.

Gymnastics

i hijacked this photo off of my friend KERRI's blog. She is so much better about taking her camera with her at all times :)

Chloe is loving gymnastics. I thought it was time she had something 'organized' that was for her... since Keaton has always been the one doing all the sports, etc.. (soccer, hockey, skating, swimming). She is so happy to go here. She wears her pink leotard and pony tails weekly and asks me every day if it is "Stix" day yet. She is loving that her buddy Addison is now in gymnastics too... a friend to share the experience with.

When I ask her what her favourite 'gymnastics move' is she always says "Ummmm, the STAR JUMP". She loves the trampoline.

How I spent my 35th birthday...

... acting like a kid :)

I love Sundays. My favourite day of the week - EASY.

Today was so fun. We went ice skating again at the local hockey arena. The kids love doing that. Met up with John with his girls - Macey and Madelyn and had fun.

Then at 4pm Matt brought the kids to the hill out back for some rather CHILLY tobogganing. Man it has gotten cold here. The wind whipping across our back field was brutal. Still we managed to have fun and after about 10 minutes i ran back to the house to grab my camera. We were laughing so hard and I didn't want to miss getting some photos. Glad I did.

These photos in particular have me roaring with laughter... just so fun to see Shaune acting like a kid!

Quick dash to the hot tub to unthaw after sledding. It was so cold though that the steam froze on our hair the minute it hit us. BRRRR.

It was a good birthday. Just hanging out with the fam and enjoying some winter fun.
