TMNT the movie

Yes, on opening night we made it to the movie... The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have officially made their come back!

Daddy and Mommy and Keaton went. Thanks to Lynn & Larry for watching Chloe (she didn't need to pick up any new kung fu moves! Ahem!) while we went. Keaton loved the movie. The Mommy and Daddy surprisingly enjoyed it too. I've went to some stinkers in my days as a mom (Shark Boy Lava Girl comes to mind) but this was not too bad, definetly enjoyable. I think Keaton liked having his Mom & Dad to himself for a night and we treated him to his favourite meal: Chinese Food before the movie b/c his teacher had called home to praise how wonderfully Keaton is doing (and trying) at school. We celebrated that, at the suggestion of his great teacher - Ms. Kelly.

Plans for the weekend include some gardening if the weather brightens up. Our yard is a MESS. Henry the dog does a great job of tearing up the yard with his crazy running around at the speed of light routine. He gets a deflated (by him) big ball in his mouth and he loops the front yard about 40x without stopping. To say spring is messy with dogs is an UNDERSTATEMENT. The invisible fencing has worked so darn well. I am so glad we got that last fall. He has not once tried to break the barrier and knows the limits well. It has been great for him to have our whole property to escape to and run off some of that frantic energy he seems to possess an abundance of!

We need to buy pool furniture this weekend too. I am so excited that within a couple months we will be able to open up our new pool and finally USE it. We are hoping to open it early May and heat it until it gets to be summer. Here's hoping for a hot May month. The home show is this weekend and we may try and get to that but with Keaton's last hockey of the season I 'm not sure there will be time.

I am glad that the first day of Spring has come. I am so ready. The kids are SO ready for outdoors and swing sets and puddles and flowers. It isn’t really spring weather here yet though, the snow is melting and the sun is shining but it is still quite chilly, especially in the evenings.

The kids are tired of waiting for spring weather so after Keaton gets off the bus from school they go play in the backyard and deal with the snow and cold weather. Kids never complain about the weather, do they? They make the most of it.

Here they are making the most of it. I'm sure everyone in a 10 mile radius of our home heard Chloe's hysterical and contagious laughter as Keaton pushed her on her swing. Good times!

Way to Go, Keaton!

At the end of a long day of 3 hockey games, the kids from both Stirling teams got their trophies. Keaton got an extra surprise by being voted "Hustler of the Game" for his team. Wow. He was so proud and so he should be. He and his whole team have improved so much this year and I can honestly say that I love watching him play hockey. As long as he loves the game, I'll be there to cheer him on. He tried sooooooooooo hard that last game and was all over the ice trying to get at the puck. Their team lost but his effort by the other team was well noted and they voted for him to get the special trophy. Way to go little man!

What a way to end our March Break!

Last day of march break and Keaton is having a ball playing in his first ever hockey tournament. They are losing big time but he doesn't care, the kids at this age are all about just having fun and doing their best and i love that! Keaton has played 2 out of his 3 games and heads back at 6pm for his last one. He cannot wait. Shaune was able to get the day off to cheer him on and Mom helped out and watched Chloe for us all morning. My photo skills with arena lighting are very lacking but here are some fun ones of my boy in action. Keep trying your hardest Keaton. We are having fun watching you in this sport!

for Sale... Oilily S-Do Denim dress (Euro size 92) XXX SOLD XXX

This is my favourite Chloe dress ever... i put it on her yesterday and man oh man... my girl has grown. She wore this 2 times (both for just a few hrs) and now it is too small. I'm sad. But, since it doesn't fit I'm going to sell it. It is an authentic Oilily dress and I paid major bucks for it. I couldn't resist all the details and how unique it was. On the few occassions that Chloe wore this she got so many compliments and there really is nothing like an Oilily Dress. I just bought her some new Oilily dresses today so it is time to make room in her closet. I also have a few more that i'm going to have to part with shortly.

Details: Size 92 (which is 2-3 yrs). I would say that it fits true to size. Chloe wore it while she was in size 2T-3T clothing. When i first bought it her arms were too short so i rolled the cuff and you couldn't even tell, so it has a good size range. The denim is medium to light weight. It is suitable for spring, fall and winter wear. Excellent condition.  The back of this dress is too die for. Ruffles and bow & just a really unique design!

For now, this one is available. If you are interested - email me. Price is $75 + shipping. I paid much more and it is in awesome condition. For sale is the dress only. I will give you the tights if you like them, but they do show wash wear and piling like most tights do after a couple washes. Free with the dress. Boots already gone to a good home :)

Oilily clothing

i have searched and searched on line.

if anyone knows of an online store (other than ebay) that sells Oilily (not Cakewalk) I would love a link.

there are a few must have's for spring and i'd love to find a store online that sells them.

He shoots, he scores!

This past weekend Keaton scored his first ever goal. He was beyond excited and talked about it all day long. He shot the puck and it deflected off the defense man's stick and went in. That counts as a goal, right? Anyhow, it was a big deal for Keats. He was so proud of himself! Way to go hockey boy!

Then... and Now...

I stumbled across this photo tonight. Coincidence... I think not. I had just been listening to one of my favourite Dixie Chick's songs Easy Silence that reminds me completely of my husband. And then I find this photo... of him. From when we had just started dating, many a year ago! He was the calm in my storm and he has always had a way of being so quiet but so strong and so funny too. The best of everything I could of ever hoped for.

Then... I'd just gotten out of a not-so-good for me relationship. I wasn't looking for anyone... I was single and enjoying it. But sometimes something comes your way and you know it is right for you. The next many years we would be apart (college and university), then together (living in London, Ontario for a year on campus), then apart again as we started our careers. (Goodness, the phone bills back then!)

Now... many years later (wow, has it been almost 13 yrs?) I look at this photo and think of what a smart woman I was to snag this boy. He is my best friend. And he is my husband.

No, it is not his birthday. No, it is not our anniversary. It is a post - just because I found this photo tonight and my heart still went pitter patter...

And she danced...

Chloe has been kinda obsessed with dancing ever since she saw the movie "Barbie - 12 Dancing Princesses". I'd hate to guess how many times she has watched it! Nana E has been spoiling her with tutu dance dresses in every colour of the rainbow. This one she has in 2 colours of pink, as well as a white one and a blue one. Lucky girl.

She spends a good part of most every day dressing up in them, complete with purse and dress-up high heels and she actually WANTS me to take her photo in them. If you know Chloe at all... you know she does NOT like getting her photo taken and she is a very stubborn girl about it.

She was barely out of the tub (hence the wet hair) and back into one of her outfits on this day when she ASKED me to take her photo - a good sign that she is in her element and proud of the wardrobe she has picked out for herself :)
