Scrapbook Bakery July kit

This coming month I am the guest designer for this super fun scrapbook kit company. I got to play with a really pretty kit put together and sold at Scrapbook Bakery. I love the soft pinks and blues of this kit. The little organizer was a fun and quick project to turn into a little shadow frame for Chloe's bedroom. I did 2 layouts with my pretty little gals photos. I gotta say, pink is a fun colour to scrapbook with :)

Busy couple of days

Haven't been home much. On Friday, Keaton's class had their class trip. He only has a week left of school before summer break. Their class went to the fire hall, Super pet to learn about animals and then to Reid's Dairy to eat lunch, have a loonie shake and see the farm animals there. We had a perfect day for it (last year we got rained out at the zoo) and I loved spending the day with my little man. He had a great day.

Yesterday, the whole afternoon was spent tidying up some very dirty vehicles. I'm considering selling my mini-van and it was in need of a serious clean. Now it is so sparkling clean I'm tempted to keep it. Saturday also brought a lot of trouble for Chloe when we discovered she'd snuck away for a whole 2 minutes... long enough to do a lot of damage. She had taken a blue marker and drawn all over 2 walls of her bedroom and all over her new white bed. The marker was 'washable' but I can still see where the drawings were if I look close. I scrubbed with soap and water and magic eraser for a good 1/2 hr. Grr! On a positive note, Shaune and I agreed that it was her best drawing ever... :)

Today we took the kids into the  Bayview Trail in Belleville for a leasurely bike ride (for them) and walk (for us). As soon as we pulled in we discovered Adah and Sarah and Aaron at the playground. Great timing! We walked the trail with them while the kids rode their bikes. Chloe has finally figured out how to pedal those feet - she was forever figuring it out but now she is a whiz and very proud of herself... now to get her off those training wheels!

Also, here is my pathetic attempt at video taping Chloe on her bike with my little Canon digital point/shoot camera. Note to self, do not flip camera like you are taking a photo - or the whole video is sideways :) I'm learning... slowly!

Chloe's 4th birthday bash

Chloe had a "Hawaiian Luau Birthday Bash"  for her 4th birthday celebrations. Thankfully the weather cooperated and the sun shone bright. It was a fun filled day and I knew how happy chloe was, when at the end of the evening she jumped into my arms in the pool and declared "I love you mommy with WHOLE my HEART". A little backwards but isnt' that always the way with my sweet girl? I love you too Chloe!

The party started at 1:30pm and I'm not sure when it ended... somewhere around 9pm I think. We had a bbq supper and swimming/playing all day... a crazy pinata (I thought someone was going to get wacked - turned out just me and my camera did!), a bon fire and a lot of good times.

I have the best friends and they have the best kids. I love getting together. They all love eachother and it makes for a very GREAT day.

Soccer Superstar

Keaton is loving Soccer this year. Alot of that has to do with how many goals he is scoring... noone is prouder of him than HIM. Ha. Well, we of course are too. Love watching him run. I love watching the enthusiasm and confidence build. I dare say he is the fastest kid out there, even being a little shortie - he can outrun them all. He also is so cute in his soccer kleets and way-too-big soccer shirt!

Chloe is FOUR!!!

Wow. I can hardly believe it. But alas, it is true. My baby girl is four years old.

She loves Shrek and Barbie and dress-up and dolls and worms and bugs. She is the best of everything, girlie girl and tomboy - whatever the moment calls for.

And we love her so much!

 

Oh, what a night!

Last weekend (June 9th) we celebrated with my family and friends at the wedding of my cousin Mike and his new bride Sheri. To say it was fun... is an understatement. Big family, lots of laughter and dancing and stories to tell - I was feeling giddy and lucky all night long.

We had a great time and the wedding was beautiful. The reception on the water (on the most beautiful day so far of the summer) was tres posh and the decorations were dreamy. We danced all night and then took a bus back to our hotel. My cousin Brenda and Aunt Phyllis came down from Cache Creek BC and they definetly made the most of their visit. I wish they lived closer!

At the end of the night we hitched a ride back on the school bus. That was a rowdy ride!

The next morning we managed to pull ourselves out of bed in time to get to a delicious brunch at Sheri's parents home. Another gorgeous day... but hotter. We headed home from Ajax at around 2pm and picked up the kidlets.

The rest of the day was spent chilling by the pool. We had a surprise visit from our neighbourhood fox that seems to think he is a cuddly cat, not a fox. He has made our yard his home and I'm not too keen on that - at all.

A special morning for Chloe

It is hard to believe Chloe is heading off to school in the Fall. Today she had an invitation from the school to come in for a little bit and meet her teacher and see her class room. She was definetly not as excited about the 'event' as Keaton was a few years back (I remember him bouncing off the walls with excitement) but once she was there she was really into it. She even asked me to "leave now". Summer will surely fly by and then we will see how much she wants to be at school all day without mom. I hope she will - daycare doesn't always go over too well...and she only has to go there 2 days a week - I think the excitement of getting on the bus every day with Keaton and being in a 'big kid school' like her brother and his friends is enticing to my little gal.

She took her beloved kitty cat "Twyla" with her for support and did great, even meeting a new little friend called Natalie. She loved the array of new toys and that the room had its own bathroom. Wait til she is let loose to play in the big playground.

I took a few photos of her before we left. Chloe will be 4 in 2 wks time. I can hardly believe it!

Busy with Sports...and stuff :)

Keaton has been keeping us busy with his sports now that summer is almost here. He is doing soccer 2 nights a week and baseball one night. Chloe does gymnastics and has informed me that she is now ready to take dance classes. Here are photos Chloe...doing what she does best - flitting and dancing and running about :) ... and some of Keaton the first night of baseball.

Chloe, Chloe, Chloe. How I love this girl. She is all play and isn't much for listening or following direction at the moment. She is definetly her own person and is happy as a clam just running around twirling and dancing like a ragamuffin princess. I love these silly photos of her.

Keaton was so excited to start baseball. I think part of it was definetly because his best bud Curtis is on his team, and that Chris is one of his coaches. I was worried, we are not baseball people (even though I guess I did play as a pre-teen... I was the pitcher) and poor Keaton hasn't had the benefit of tossing the ball, playing catch or time at bat. Still, he did pretty good. He loved when he hit the ball and got to run. Yes, my boy does love to run. Shaune couldn't be at his first game but we have a whole long season ahead of us... including his first practice this Saturday morning. I think I'll let Daddy take him to that.

We are really enjoying our pool. Every day when Keaton gets off the bus he runs upstairs and throws on a swimsuit and jumps in the pool. It is now our afternoon thing and when Shaune gets home he usually joins us. It is adding up to more time together as a family and less time with Keaton and Chloe watching tv or playing video games. Now that is a good thing!
