Cocoa beach... baby!

  We are having a great time. The weather is incredible and the kids are doing great... they love the ocean and the sand. Keaton told me he loved that he could "run and never stop" on the beach - lol! Chloe told me she didn't want to go back to snow and that she was going to stay here and live here. The past few days have flown by and I hate how fast time is passing. Wednesday we are heading to Universal Studios with the kids. Other than that we are mostly chillin' around the beach house and enjoying the sun and ocean breezes.

I'm going to attempt to load some photos here. I have no idea if I edited them correctly - I'm on Jenn's laptop and the colors seem off. We promised Daddy we'd post some photos though... so here we go....

Easter time

Easter this year is a bit different... there is more snow than there was at Christmas. AND IT IS FREEZING COLD OUT. Brrr!

Yesterday, Good Friday we had a lazy day and then headed over to my Uncle Lewis & Aunt Sherry's for a big Easter feast. The kids had a blast playing with their cousins and didn't want to leave - even after we'd been there 6 hrs. I think I'm still full from turkey, ham, dressing, mac & cheese, appetizers, desserts, etc. I think we had about 40 in attendance and after everyone had ate, we still had enough left over to feed another 40 I think. I loved seeing everyone and look forward to our family reunion in August when I can see them all again.

Aunt Betty got Chloe the cutest doll backpack and she got Keaton a fierce Dragon kite... we'll need to wait til the snow melts to try it out. Mom & Dad got Chloe the sweetest little bunny & got Keaton a game for his playstation II he has been wanting - Maternational (from the movie Cars). We have a hockey game (Keaton's final game of the season) and then Shaune's parents tonight.

Tomorrow I plan on getting organized for our trip to Florida and hopefully finishing a 1200 pg novel I started WAY TOO LONG AGO! I want it finished before I leave for my beach vacation.

Here are a few photos of the kiddies dressed up for Easter. Keaton is not easy to 'dress up' anymore so this is as dressy as I can get him - a tshirt, button-down and jeans. Chloe on the other hand loves to dress up and has been waiting all week to put this dress on for Easter celebrations. They both looked pretty cute!

First 'official' day of March Break

Yesterday was the first 'official' day of March Break for the kids. We are sticking around home mostly and 'chillin' but yesterday we got together with the MacDonald's and headed up to Kingston to treat the kids to a fun day. We went to the Playtrium for face-painting, a huge indoor jungle gym, music and food. They had a blast. Keaton had his face painted with flames and Chloe decided to be a pink tiger. They looked so cute and loved the designs they had on their faces. Kerri took these photos of them (Yes... I forgot my camera AGAIN!) and I thought I'd share.

After hockey practice Keaton spent the night at the MacDonalds and we attempted to have Adi over for a sleepover. It went really well up until Chloe fell asleep before her....then Adison got to missing her momma. So at almost midnight Kerri came and picked her up. Sweet Adi, we'll try it again soon... no worries.

A special phone call

Yesterday I was away for the entire day for a road trip up to Toronto to see the musical Dirty Dancing. It was awesome but it meant I had to miss Keaton's hockey game.

While eating out after the show for supper, my cell phone rang and a very excited 7 yr old was calling to tell me all about his hockey game and how he had scored 2 goals and got 2 assists... and almost got a 3rd goal too (almosts count for a little boy!)

He was so excited and so was I. But I missed it :( His best game to date and I missed it all. I am really proud of him and how much enthusiasm he has for hockey. He is walking on Cloud 9 this weekend from his big game.

WAY TO GO Buddy! Next time I WILL see it :)

Yesterday...

Yesterday was a busy day. For starters it was 'Beach Day' at school. The kids were excited (especially Chloe) to wear beach clothes to school for the day... the only problem is - it is still freaking really cold out... and there is a lot of snow. So Keaton settled for shorts overtop of his jeans. Chloe picked out her own outfit (with some assistance from me... insisting she needed to wear clothing under her bikini) and came up with this fancy number:

She even took flower lei's to school for the girls in her class and insisted on wearing her sun hat underneath her knit winter toque. She was quite the sight as she got on the school bus. She is divine, I just love her personality to bits.

Keaton had skating at the arena so I met him for a 1 hour skate with his classmates and him. I didn't take my camera. Had to concentrate on just skating :) Keaton loves to skate. LOVES IT. He was in all his glory ripping around the ice and outskating some of the adults even. ha.

Every night when Keaton gets home from school he plays hockey for a bit. He is becoming obsessed with hockey. He plays with me, daddy or Chloe... or himself if noone else will tolerate the cold weather. I snapped some shots of him 'practicing his skills' on net.

 

He is so dang cute. His freckles are multiplying - I told him they are fairy kisses - he seems to like the idea that all these fairy's are kissing him when he sleeps at night and giving him a freckly face.

March Break is here. It started today. So far we've done NOTHING. Chloe is vegging in front of the tv watching her Peter Pan cartoon for the 100th time... Keaton is rotating between Playstation NHL Hockey 08 and making Star Wars Lego ships. I'm trying to think of something fun to do with them. But the weather is cold and snowy - I am not going to a park in this weather. I'm thinking today is our 'day off day' since next week we have many playdates & fun activities planned. A mom needs a break once in a while, right? :) Maybe we'll bake.

Out of the blue

... a few minutes ago, Keaton teaches me yet again that time keeps marching on and he isn't the little toddler boy I still envision him to be in my mind.

K: Oh I get it.

Me the mom: What?

K: The tooth fairy, she isn't real.

Me the mom: What do you mean?

K: She isn't real. I get it. The parents come get the tooth from under your pillow and put money there instead. I get it now.

Me the mom: SPEECHLESS.

Apparently he has been thinking about this as he awaits his first tooth to come out (they are all still firmly in place at age 7). He sounds pretty certain about his decision that she does not exist. I'm torn on whether to leave it as is or talk him into believing in her again. He says he still believes in Santa, because he has  met him. He doesn't believe in the tooth fairy because he knows nothing about her.

Bless my sweet boy. I suppose he'll get his $$ whether he believes or not,... that's if he ever loses a tooth to begin with.
