Meg and her bottle... it is quite the love affair. She is 28 months old and still has a bottle. She drinks water and juice from her sippy cup but refuses to drink her "milky" from anything but her bottle with the brown nipples. The clear nipples - forget about it... she won't do it. She has a bit of a stubborn streak in her and she likes things the way she likes them. I remember Chloe never really loved a bottle. She breast fed and then went to bottles but quickly switched over to sippy cups by around 18 months. Keaton, our first had the bottle taken away from him at 14 months. I remember it well because he had a similar love for his bottle, like Meg. I was concerned that he'd never want to get rid of it so I took it away earlier than I really needed to.
But, Meg is our baby. She loves her bottle. She knows where we keep her bottles in the bottom drawer and she assembles the bottle with the drop in liner - does all the work for me other than pour in the milk. She has a bottle as soon as she gets up in the morning and I try every day to refuse any more bottles until after supper time (about 1 hr before bed) but by mid day she is begging for "milky bubba". I know it is time to take it away but she isn't ready yet. I wonder when I'll get up the nerve to do it. ME = pushover!
Millie still loves her bottle too....and they grow up so fast that I honestly don't mind anymore.....she will give it up when she is ready. Funny that meg and Millie are the same with only having milk from the bottle....she will use big girl cups for everything. It's a comfort thing and I just can't say no.
