Loan is special to our family. She lives in Ho Chi Minh City and she is a representative and the go-to-gal for our adoption agency when you travel to south Vietnam. She helped prepare information for our referral of Meg, she was the liason for all adoption 'stuff' going through our agency.
She was the one who met us at the airport in June 2009 after our long flight from Toronto and escorted us to our hotel. She picked us up the next morning and was the one to introduce me to my beautiful baby girl. She took our photos, she told me all about Meg's needs and her history, she became a friend and a support system for us while we were away in a strange (but wonderful) new country where we didn't speak the language. We spent almost 5 wks together.
She was there for Meg when I couldn't be... from December 2008 until I held her in my arms at 6 months old. When Meg was so ill and in the hospital for 3 months = Loan did all she could to keep us informed of improvements. We have several photos of Meg's stay in the hospital, as well as some cherished photos of Meg's time with her nanny - and that is all thanks to Loan.
When we heard she, along with several Vietnamese delegates were flying to Ontario to attend a fundraising gala for Vung Tau (Meg's birth city), I knew I just had to get up to Toronto to see her again.
Meg has grown and changed so much. She is not that timid and sick 10 lb 6 month old babe anymore. She is amazing and I wanted Loan to see how far Meg has come. It was a quicker visit than I would of liked because it was such a busy event, but I am thankful that I got the chance to see her again and for her to hold Meg again. I wonder if she really knows just how much we think of her?! Thank you Loan. Thank you so much.
